The challenge on ODBD this week was to use either faux or real stitching. Well, after four years of looking at the sewing machines each time they were on offer in our discount supermarket, and thinking no way could I justify getting another sewing machine, my wonderful DH said that if I thought I'd use it, get it.
I never liked using my good machine for paper, and my old one which will sew through anything is so old it doesn't even do zig-zag, just straight. Plus I either have to use the kitchen table or DH's computer table. So now I have one up in the attic all handy to use .
5 3/4" square base.
All papers are My Mind's Eye Wild Asparagus, laid out and stitched. The image and sentiment were stamped with Versafine Black on watercolour paper. I cut the image and mat layer with oval Nestabilities, the sentiment was just cut with a blade and then I rounded the corners.
Image coloured with Distress Ink re-inkers, Glossy Accents on the berries, beak and claws. Edge of sentiment sponged with Walnut Stain.
I added punched flowers popped up on foam, with Liquid Pearls dotted in the centres, and some punched swirls. Two faux brads with Glossy Accents in the top corners finish it off.
I was so pleased to have a reason to use my new machine .
